The printed circuit board is the physical heart of the product: it determines cost, reliability, size and how easily you will pass certification.
The design path
- Requirements: functions, power supply, operating environment, enclosure size, production volumes.
- Architecture and components: we choose parts with good availability and compatible alternatives, to avoid production stops.
- Schematics with reviewed calculations: power rails, protections, filters, thermal margins.
- Layout: placement, ground planes, trace widths, controlled impedance where needed.
- Prototypes and testing: lab measurements, fixes, a second revision ready for production.
Tools
We mainly work with KiCad, a mature, professional open-source tool: customers receive open sources with no licensing constraints, together with manufacturing files, bill of materials and assembly documentation.
Designing for manufacturing and testing
- DFM: rules that match the manufacturer's processes, panelisation, parts suitable for automated assembly.
- DFT: test points, programming connectors and end-of-line test procedures.
- EMC: proper stackup, current return paths and input filtering, to reach electromagnetic compatibility testing with fewer surprises.
- Thermal: dissipation of power components and temperature checks.
From prototype to series
We support the move to production with PCB and assembly suppliers, check the first batches and maintain the design over time, managing revisions and the replacement of obsolete parts.
